Covanta focuses on Wales and the South West

Covanta Energy has expanded its business development team again to focus on the Wales and South West.  Jason Baldwin has joined Covanta as Senior Development Manager with direct responsibility for these regions.

Jason joins Covanta from Environment Resource Management (ERM), where he worked with both industrial commercial and public sector clients to find commercially viable solutions to meet regulatory requirements.   Prior to this, Jason spent six years running waste management collection services throughout the UK.

Jason brings over ten years experience in the waste management sector, ranging from operations management to business development.  At Covanta, Jason will be responsible for developing the Covanta Energy business model in Wales and the South West.   Covanta entered the UK market in 2005 and currently operates 37 EfW plants worldwide, making it the largest EfW supplier internationally.

Malcolm Chilton, Managing Director for Covanta Energy, said:

“The UK operation has enjoyed significant growth over the past year and it is very important for us to have the right staff to build our business here.  I am delighted to have Jason on board to focus on Wales and the South West as Covanta continues its ongoing expansion throughout the UK.”

Jason will be based at Covanta’s UK office in the West Midlands.
