ANOTHER SIX FOR PM ONBOARD

 

According to Alan Hurt, director, Clive Hurt (Plant Hire) Ltd: ‘The PM1300 is well on its way to becoming a fleet standard.  PM1300 onboard weighing equipment has ticked all the right boxes and is being fitted to our new vehicle intake – another six eight wheelers entering service from 1 March.'

   

As far as Clive Hurt (Plant Hire) Ltd is concerned safety is paramount and that includes running the 30 muckaway eight wheelers in its fleet at their most productive and without exceeding legal gross weight limits.

 

Not surprisingly then, the North West based plant hire, bulk excavation, earth moving and construction materials recycling specialist has already notched up more than ten years in-service experience with PM equipment that is now fitted across all 30 trucks in its muckaway fleet.  More recently, however, the company has upgraded to PM1300 equipment, seizing the opportunity to combine the two dash mounted screens previously used to display vehicle weight/loading information and to show pictures transmitted from the chassis mounted reversing camera into a single one touch screen, leaving the dash less cluttered in the process.

 

The drivers like the equipment too, the reversing camera being a definite safety plus especially when operating on site, including at the company’s licensed tipping and recycling facilities, and its two depots - in Leyland and Manchester.

 

In addition to PM equipment, the new intake will have Thompson tipping bodies and Edbro underfloor tipping gear – a combination that Alan Hurt reckons is just right for bulk excavation and earth moving.  And while he will not be drawn into saying that PM equipment helps boost truck residual values, he will say that having it probably makes it easier to sell them on!
